In the light of the credit crunch and the global
economic downturn, I agree with the Government that the focus needs to be on getting the
economy moving again by preventing a major banking collapse and stumulating the flow of
credit.
However, I think it is also important to recognise
that, despite the obvious negative impact on millions of people, the crisis should be
taken as an opportunity to create a fairer, more equal, more sustainable and more green
economic system.
As such, I will be detailing on this page the work
that I am doing to encourage such a shift in thinking and action.
