Apprenticeship Awards

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has recently announced that applications are now open for the sixth annual Apprenticeship Awards.

Any employers or apprentices would like to enter the awards they can do so through here. The closing date for applications is Friday 27 February.

The Apprenticeship Awards are designed to recognise and reward both employers and apprentices who are successfully using Apprenticeships to improve their business performance and tackle skills shortages. The Awards also aim to honour those whose contribution to the workplace has exceeded their employers’ expectations and resulted in measurable benefits or who have overcome difficulties to succeed through their Apprenticeship.

Categories open for entry are:

-Apprentice of the Year
-Advanced Apprentice of the Year
-Young Apprentice of the Year

Employer of the Year has five categories which are:
-Micro Employer of the Year: 1 - 9 employees
-Small Employer of the Year: 10 - 49 employees
-Medium Employer of the Year: 50 - 249 employees
-Large Employer of the Year: 250 – 4,999 employees
-Macro Employer of the Year: 5,000+ employees

Apprentices entering the Awards programme must be working towards, or have completed, an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship. All applicants must have been in been in Learning and Skills Council funded learning in April 2006 or started their Apprenticeships since April 2006.
